While doing so he painted a picture of the Messiah that they had not seen before.<br /><br />Seeing the sensus plenior is simply seeing the pictures of Christ that have been hidden there since the beginning and which the apostles knew how to discern.<br /><br />The sensus plenior is revealed by seeing Christ and knowing Christ.<br /><br />The purpose of the sensus plenior was so that Jesus could know who he was and what he was to do without using omniscience.
